RM45x2 Description
Core Purpose
This device is an industrial router designed to provide stable and continuous internet connectivity in demanding environments. It combines dual cellular modules, wired connections, and Wi-Fi to ensure that devices stay online even when networks fail. The focus is on reliability, making it suitable for critical operations where downtime is not acceptable.
Connectivity and Communication
The router uses dual RM45x2 modules to maintain strong and stable connections. If one network fails, it can automatically switch to another SIM, another module, or even a wired or Wi-Fi connection. This layered failover approach helps maintain uninterrupted communication.
It also supports secure data transfer through VPN technologies like OpenVPN and IPsec. This allows businesses to safely connect remote devices and systems without exposing sensitive data. Built-in monitoring tools continuously check connection health and can trigger automatic recovery actions if needed.
Positioning and Tracking
A built-in GNSS module provides accurate location tracking. This allows the router to be used in moving assets or remote installations where location visibility is important. It supports use cases like fleet tracking and mobile equipment monitoring without needing additional hardware.
Monitoring and Network Management
The router includes tools for tracking connection status and maintaining uptime. Features like ping-based reboot and periodic checks help detect and resolve issues automatically. Firewall and access control functions add another layer of protection by managing how data flows through the network.
Power and Environmental Suitability
Designed for industrial use, the device operates in a wide temperature range from –40°C to +65°C. Its aluminum enclosure provides durability and basic protection (IP30), making it suitable for controlled industrial environments. The 10–30V DC input allows flexible power integration across different setups.
Expansion and I/O Support
The router includes multiple interfaces for integration into industrial systems. It offers RS485 and digital inputs (GPI), enabling communication with external equipment. With five Gigabit Ethernet ports and dual-band Wi-Fi, it can connect multiple devices and support both wired and wireless deployments.Â
Product Variants
The RM45x2 is available in LTE CAT.4 and CAT.6 versions, both featuring dual LTE modules along with advanced failover, load balancing, GPS, and robust VPN capabilities. CAT.4 provides up to 150 Mbps per module, while CAT.6 delivers up to 300 Mbps per module for higher-speed, data-intensive applications.
