RS52 Description
Core Purpose
The RS52 5G RedCap router is designed to provide stable and fast internet connectivity in industrial and mobile environments. It combines cellular and local networking to support devices that need continuous communication. The focus is on reliability, even in demanding conditions where downtime is not acceptable.
Connectivity and Communication
The router uses 5G RedCap and LTE networks to deliver data connectivity, with speeds suitable for real-time applications. Dual SIM support allows automatic failover, helping maintain a connection if one network becomes unavailable. It also supports Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) to create a local wireless network for nearby devices.
To ensure secure communication, the device supports VPN technologies like OpenVPN and IPsec. This allows safe data transfer between remote sites and central systems. Built-in routing and network services help manage traffic efficiently across wired, wireless, and cellular connections.
Monitoring and Management
The router includes tools to monitor connection status and automatically recover from network issues. Features like ping reboot and periodic checks help keep the system online without manual intervention. It also supports diagnostics and scripting, allowing users to customize how the device behaves in different situations.
Security is a key part of operation, with firewall rules, access control, and protection against common network attacks. These features help maintain stable and secure communication in industrial environments.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device supports a wide power input range (9–54V DC), making it suitable for various installations, including vehicles and industrial systems. It can also operate using PoE (Power over Ethernet), simplifying deployment where separate power lines are not available.
Its aluminum enclosure and –40°C to +65°C operating range allow it to function reliably in harsh environments. This makes it suitable for both indoor and controlled industrial settings.
Expansion and I/O Support
The router includes GPI and GPO interfaces, enabling interaction with external devices such as sensors or control systems. PoE IN and PoE OUT allow it to both receive and supply power to connected equipment.
With Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi access, it can connect multiple devices at once, supporting both wired and wireless deployments. This flexibility makes it adaptable to different industrial and enterprise setups.
