F2910 Description
Core Purpose
The F2910 is an NB-IoT terminal designed to connect serial equipment to cellular IoT networks for remote data transmission. It acts as a bridge between traditional industrial devices and modern NB-IoT infrastructure, allowing existing equipment to send operational data to remote systems with minimal configuration.
By supporting standard serial interfaces such as RS232 and RS485, the device can integrate directly with many industrial controllers, sensors, and monitoring systems. This enables organizations to extend legacy equipment into connected IoT environments without redesigning their hardware platforms.
Connectivity and Communication
The terminal transmits data using public NB-IoT cellular networks, which are optimized for low-bandwidth, low-power machine communication. This makes the device suitable for applications that require long-term remote connectivity with minimal power consumption.
The device supports common communication protocols including TCP, UDP, MQTT, and CoAP, allowing it to communicate with a wide range of IoT platforms and cloud services. It can also connect to multiple remote servers and supports dynamic domain name access, making deployment across different data centers easier.
A transparent transmission mode allows serial data from connected equipment to be delivered directly to network servers without complex data conversion, simplifying system integration.
Monitoring and Data Interface Capabilities
The F2910 includes multiple I/O capabilities that allow it to collect and transmit operational data from connected equipment. It supports digital input/output channels, analog inputs, and pulse counters, enabling integration with various industrial sensors and monitoring devices.
These interfaces allow the terminal to gather information such as meter readings, signal states, or pulse-based measurements and transmit them through the NB-IoT network to central monitoring systems. This enables remote supervision of field devices and infrastructure assets.
Power and Environmental Design
The device is designed for industrial environments with a wide 5–36V DC power input range, making it compatible with different power systems commonly used in industrial installations.
Its IP30 metal enclosure protects internal components while providing a durable structure for long-term operation. The device operates in temperatures ranging from –35°C to +75°C, allowing reliable deployment in outdoor or demanding industrial conditions.
To improve reliability, the terminal incorporates protection mechanisms such as watchdog monitoring, automatic reconnection, and interface protection for serial ports and SIM connections. These safeguards help maintain stable connectivity in remote deployments.
Expansion and Device Integration
The terminal provides standard serial connectivity through RS232 and RS485 interfaces, allowing direct connection to industrial equipment and embedded systems. This design enables simple integration with existing serial-based devices commonly used in monitoring and automation systems.
Additional interfaces such as SIM card support, antenna connectivity, and terminal-block power input make installation straightforward in industrial cabinets or field equipment. Indicator LEDs provide quick visual status information for power, activity, and network connectivity.
