F-SC242 Description
Core Purpose
The F-SC242 is an industrial 5G/4G IoT RTU IP camera designed for remote video surveillance and sensor data collection. It combines high-definition imaging with built-in RTU functionality, allowing it to gather data from external sensors and transmit both video and device data over cellular or Ethernet networks.
With edge processing capability and AI video analysis at the front end, the device can analyze events locally before sending data to a central system. This reduces bandwidth usage and allows faster response to on-site conditions.
Video and Imaging Performance
The camera uses a 1/2.8″ progressive scan CMOS sensor with 5MP resolution (2560 × 1920). It supports up to 30fps recording, delivering smooth and detailed video for monitoring environments that require clarity.
It supports H.265 video compression, which reduces bandwidth and storage usage compared to H.264. With Super WDR up to 140dB, the camera maintains image clarity in scenes with strong light contrast.
Infrared illumination supports visibility up to 150m, with white light support up to 100m, enabling effective monitoring in low-light or night conditions.
Connectivity and Communication
The device supports 5G NR with downstream rates up to 3.4Gbps, as well as LTE FDD and LTE TDD options depending on the model. This enables high-speed wireless transmission for remote sites without wired infrastructure.
A 10/100/1000M RJ45 Ethernet port provides stable wired connectivity when available. The system supports IPv4/IPv6 and common communication protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, RTSP, and SNMP, allowing integration with existing monitoring platforms.
Optional Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz) supports AP and client modes, enabling flexible local wireless networking.
Storage and Recording
The camera supports microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 512GB for local storage. The fixed lens version also supports a 2.5” SATA HDD or SSD up to 4TB, allowing extended on-site recording without external NVR equipment.
Event-based recording can be triggered by motion detection or external inputs. Files can be uploaded via FTP or SMTP, or stored locally on the SD card.
Monitoring and Detection Capabilities
The device includes motion detection, privacy masking, backlight compensation, ROI, anti-fog, and image stabilization functions. These features help maintain reliable video performance across different environmental conditions.
Optional AI video analysis includes region entrance/exit detection, line crossing detection, loitering detection, tamper detection, human detection, and people counting. These functions support automated monitoring and event awareness.
Expansion and I/O Support
The F-SC242 provides 2 × RS232 and 2 × RS485 interfaces, enabling integration with industrial equipment and sensors. It also includes 2 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, and 2 relays for control and automation scenarios.
An internal ADC (2 × 12-bit) allows analog signal acquisition. The embedded RTU function enables active sensor data collection and protocol conversion for industrial systems.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device supports DC 12–60V input and PoE (802.3at), providing flexible power options for field deployment. It operates in temperatures from –40°C to 75°C and humidity levels up to 90% (non-condensing).
With IP67 waterproof protection and IK09 impact resistance, the metal housing is designed for outdoor and industrial environments. Built-in protections include 1.5KV Ethernet isolation and 15KV ESD protection for the SIM/UIM interface.
The unit measures 297 × 140 × 110 mm and weighs 3.55 kg (without accessories).
