F3X36Q Description
Core Purpose
The F3X36Q is an industrial 4G router designed to provide stable wireless data communication over public cellular networks. It connects remote equipment to central systems using LTE, 3G, or 2G networks. With both Ethernet and serial interfaces, it supports legacy industrial devices as well as modern IP-based systems. It is built for long-distance data transmission where wired connections are not practical.
Connectivity and Communication
The router supports FDD-LTE with speeds up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, allowing smooth data exchange between field devices and control centers. It also supports fallback to 3G and 2G networks for broader coverage. It includes 1 × 10/100M WAN port and 4 × 10/100M LAN ports, enabling multiple wired devices to connect at the same time. The RS232/RS485 interface (2400–115200 bps) allows direct communication with PLCs, meters, and other serial equipment. Dual-link switching between cellular and wired WAN is supported (optional), helping maintain continuous connectivity. The device also supports VPN protocols such as PPTP, L2TP, IPSEC, OpenVPN, and GRE (VPN version), enabling secure remote communication. Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (up to 144 Mbps) allows wireless device access in local installations.
Monitoring and Management
The router supports remote management through standard network tools such as SNMP and HTTPS. It allows firmware upgrades locally or remotely, simplifying maintenance. It can trigger online or offline events through SMS, serial data, or network signals. Built-in firewall functions and access control features help protect connected systems from unauthorized access.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device operates on DC 12V (1.5A) and accepts a wide DC 5–36V input range, making it suitable for different industrial power systems. It consumes 95–135 mA in standby mode and 165–220 mA during communication at 12VDC. Sleep mode consumption can drop below 150 µA. The metal enclosure is rated IP30 and designed for industrial environments. It operates reliably in temperatures from –35°C to +75°C and supports up to 95% non-condensing humidity.
Hardware and Interface Design
The router uses an industrial-grade CPU with 128MB DDR2 and 16MB flash (128MB optional). It includes built-in 15KV ESD protection on Ethernet, serial, and SIM interfaces. It provides 2 × SMA cellular antenna connectors and 1 × SMA Wi-Fi antenna connector. The SIM slot supports 1.8V/3V SIM cards, with an optional dual-SIM model for network redundancy. Compact dimensions (127 × 89.5 × 30 mm) and a weight of 345 g make it suitable for control cabinets and tight installations.
