GV56RS Description
Core Purpose
The GV56RS is a cost-effective GNSS tracker designed for light vehicles that require multi-sensor connectivity. It extends the GV56 platform with RS485 support, enabling integration with external fuel, load, and other sensors. The device is suited for applications where additional data sources are required beyond basic tracking.
Connectivity and Communication
The tracker operates on GSM/GPRS networks, supporting global deployments where 2G coverage is available. Bluetooth 3.0 and BLE 4.0 allow wireless accessories and driver identification devices. OTA control enables remote configuration and management.
Positioning and Tracking
An MTK GNSS receiver provides reliable positioning with autonomous accuracy under 2.5 meters. Location data supports real-time tracking, route history, and geofence-based alerts. This helps operators maintain visibility of vehicles and assets.
Monitoring and Safety Functions
The GV56RS supports ignition detection, motion detection, tow alarms, and emergency alarms. Driving behavior monitoring helps identify harsh driving events. External power monitoring provides visibility into vehicle power status.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device operates on a standard 8–32V DC vehicle power supply and includes a small internal backup battery. It supports a wide operating temperature range, making it suitable for varied vehicle environments. Its slim form factor supports discreet installation.
Expansion and I/O Support
A half-duplex RS485 serial port allows connection of multiple wired sensors, including fuel and load sensors. A configurable input supports analog or digital signals. A 1-wire interface enables temperature sensors and iButton driver identification
