EM300-DI Description
Core Purpose
The EM300-DI is designed to turn traditional passive pulse water meters into smart wireless monitoring points. It captures pulse signals from reed switch or passive pulse meters, converts them into usable consumption data, and sends the information remotely over LoRaWAN®. This makes manual meter checks much less frequent while improving visibility into water usage trends.
Connectivity and Communication
Its LoRaWAN® wireless connection supports long-range communication up to 10 km line of sight, making it practical for large campuses, farms, industrial sites, and distributed utility networks. The built-in Milesight D2D feature also enables direct low-latency communication for nearby control actions without relying on a gateway, which is useful for fast local responses. NFC support keeps device setup simple in the field through a mobile app.
Monitoring and Detection Capabilities
Beyond pulse counting, the device helps interpret meter activity into practical water insights. It can calculate water consumption, identify abnormal flow conditions, and issue water outage alarms when expected pulses stop. The built-in temperature and humidity sensors also allow the same device to monitor surrounding environmental conditions, which is useful in pump rooms, utility cabinets, and outdoor enclosures. Stored historical records with retransmission support help preserve data continuity if network communication is temporarily interrupted.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The IP67 enclosure allows reliable operation in wet and dusty areas, including outdoor utility boxes and irrigation zones. Its replaceable 4000 mAh battery is designed for up to 5 years of service at a 10-minute reporting interval, reducing maintenance visits. The wide operating range of -30°C to +70°C also supports year-round deployment in demanding environments.
Expansion and I/O Support
The single GPIO dry-contact input is built for pulse meter integration and supports input frequencies up to 2000 Hz, allowing compatibility with a wide range of reed switch and passive pulse meters. Flexible counting controls make it easy to start, stop, or clear accumulated values depending on the operational workflow. Multiple mounting methods, including screw, tape, and cable-tie installation, make deployment easier across different utility environments.
