The EM300-MCS is built to detect whether doors, windows, cabinets, or similar access points are open or closed. Its main role is to send this status wirelessly over LoRaWAN, making it suitable for remote security and status awareness without needing frequent maintenance. The built-in temperature and humidity sensing adds environmental visibility, allowing one compact device to cover both access monitoring and basic room condition tracking.
Connectivity and Communication
The sensor uses LoRaWAN for long-range, low-power communication, with transmission distances reaching up to 10 km in line-of-sight conditions. This makes it practical for buildings, campuses, warehouses, and distributed industrial spaces where gateways may be far from the sensor location. It also supports Milesight D2D for ultra-low-latency local control, which is useful when fast local actions are needed without relying on a gateway path. NFC setup keeps deployment simple by allowing quick mobile-based configuration in the field.
Monitoring and Detection Capabilities
Its primary detection function is magnetic open/close sensing, designed for reliable door and window status monitoring. Beyond intrusion-style alerts, the integrated temperature and humidity sensors help track surrounding environmental conditions, which is useful for rooms, cabinets, or controlled spaces. The device also stores up to 2,800 local records and supports retransmission, helping preserve event history during temporary network interruptions.
Power and Environmental Suitability
A 4000 mAh replaceable battery allows the device to operate for years, with the datasheet indicating over 10 years under typical reporting conditions. This long battery life makes it especially useful in hard-to-reach installation points where frequent service visits are undesirable. The IP67-rated enclosure and -30°C to +70°C operating range allow stable use in both indoor and harsh semi-outdoor environments such as gates, utility rooms, and industrial access points.
Expansion and I/O Support
The EM300-MCS keeps deployment simple with built-in NFC configuration and multiple mounting choices including wall screws, 3M tape, and cable ties. The 1.5 m magnetic cable gives flexible placement between the sensor body and the magnet point, which helps when mounting on doors, shutters, cabinets, or equipment housings. An optional 8000 mAh battery version is also available for installations that prioritize even longer maintenance cycles.
