HL31 Description
Overview
The HL31 is a Wi-Fi HaLow gateway built to fill the gap between LoRaWAN and standard Wi-Fi. It moves larger data volumes, including images, while keeping power draw low, which opens up new indoor IoT use cases.
Connectivity
It runs as a Wi-Fi HaLow access point on the IEEE 802.11ah standard over the existing IP stack. Sensors and cameras join the network directly, so there is no mesh to plan or maintain.
Coverage
The lower sub-GHz frequencies give better penetration than 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, with a line-of-sight range of up to 1 km. One gateway supports as many as 200 connected nodes.
Backhaul
Data reaches the cloud over Ethernet or optional 4G, with automatic WAN failover. VPN tunnels such as IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP, PPTP, and DMVPN keep that traffic private.
Performance
A quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 processor handles steady throughput even in busy indoor settings. The compact metal-free housing suits offices, plant floors, and similar spaces.
Installation
The small round body mounts on a desktop, wall, or ceiling. Wi-Fi configuration and a Type-C console make initial setup quick.
