UR32S Description
Core Purpose
The UR32S is an industrial 4G LTE router designed specifically for CCTV deployments. It enables secure communication between on-site surveillance devices and remote installers or technicians. This allows cameras and NVRs to be accessed, managed, and maintained remotely without needing frequent site visits. It is built to provide stable, always-on connectivity in professional security environments.
Connectivity and Communication
The router supports 4G LTE connectivity and allows automatic failover between Ethernet and cellular networks. This ensures the surveillance system remains online even if the primary connection is interrupted. It supports VPN technologies such as IPsec, OpenVPN, DMVPN, GRE, L2TP, and PPTP, enabling encrypted remote access between sites. This is essential for securely connecting distributed CCTV systems. With support for IPv4/IPv6, SNMP, VLAN, QoS, and remote management via Web, CLI, SMS, and DeviceHub, the device allows flexible deployment and centralized management across multiple installations. An optional Wi-Fi interface (2.4GHz, 802.11 b/g/n) allows wireless client or access point mode operation for local connectivity when required.
Security and Reliability
The UR32S includes SPI firewall protection, access control rules, DMZ, filtering, and DoS/DDoS protection. These functions help safeguard surveillance networks from unauthorized access and malicious traffic. It supports centralized authentication via Radius, Tacacs+, LDAP, and local authentication, along with multiple user authority levels. This enables structured access control for professional installations. Built-in VRRP and WAN failover increase system availability. A hardware watchdog and embedded protection mechanisms help maintain long-term operational stability.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device supports a wide 9–48V DC input range with surge protection and reverse polarity protection. This makes it suitable for varied installation environments. Its metal housing is rated IP30 and supports operating temperatures from –40°C to +70°C. This allows deployment in demanding industrial conditions. With low power consumption (typical 1.8W), it is suitable for energy-efficient installations.
Installation and Deployment
The compact design (108 × 90 × 26 mm) allows flexible mounting on desktop, wall, or DIN rail. Dual Ethernet ports can be configured as WAN + LAN or dual LAN depending on network structure. Optional 802.3af/at PoE PSE on LAN ports allows connected devices such as cameras to receive power directly from the router, reducing cabling complexity in CCTV installations.
