WS301 Description
Core Purpose
The WS301 is a compact magnetic contact switch designed to detect whether a door, window, cabinet, or movable object is opened, closed, or displaced. It uses a two-part magnetic design, with one piece mounted on the moving surface and the sensor fixed on the frame or nearby flat surface. This simple structure makes it easy to apply across indoor access points and movable assets.
Connectivity and Communication
The device uses LoRaWAN for long-range, low-power communication, allowing reliable status reporting over large indoor spaces or across building areas. Its support for Milesight D2D adds direct local triggering with very low delay, which is useful when fast device-to-device actions are needed without routing through a gateway. NFC setup through the mobile app also simplifies installation and provisioning in the field.
Monitoring and Detection Capabilities
WS301 continuously tracks open and close state changes and can immediately report tamper events if the device is removed or interfered with after installation. LED indicators on the unit make it easy for installers or maintenance teams to quickly confirm network status, alarm activity, and battery condition. The 10–15 mm sensing distance supports dependable door and window alignment checks in daily use.
Power and Environmental Suitability
A built-in 1200 mAh replaceable battery supports very long deployment cycles, reaching up to about 6.8 years under typical reporting settings. This reduces maintenance effort in office doors, windows, cabinets, and similar fixed assets where frequent battery replacement would be inconvenient. With indoor IP20 protection and an operating range of -20°C to +60°C, it fits well in standard commercial and industrial indoor environments.
