Core Purpose
The GL30MEU is a compact real-time asset tracker designed to monitor the location and movement of people, animals, or valuable items. Its small form factor and integrated battery make it suitable for portable tracking scenarios where wired power is not available.
The device collects location data using a multi-constellation GNSS receiver, allowing it to determine position accurately in outdoor environments. With a 650 mAh internal battery, it can operate for extended periods depending on reporting frequency and power-saving settings.
Connectivity and Communication
The tracker communicates using LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT (NB2) cellular technologies with 2G fallback, enabling reliable connectivity across wide geographic areas. This allows the device to continue transmitting location data even when newer cellular networks are not available.
Data messages can be transmitted using standard communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, or SMS, allowing integration with monitoring platforms and asset management systems. The device can also buffer up to 10,000 messages, ensuring that tracking data is preserved if the network connection is temporarily unavailable.
Positioning and Tracking
Location tracking is performed through a GNSS receiver that supports multiple satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. Using several constellations improves the chances of obtaining a position fix quickly and maintaining stable tracking.
The device is capable of location accuracy of under 2 meters (CEP) under typical open-sky conditions. Fast positioning is supported with quick start times, allowing the tracker to resume tracking quickly after sleep or standby periods.
Monitoring and Detection Capabilities
An internal 3-axis accelerometer allows the device to detect movement and trigger motion-based alerts. This enables automated reporting when an asset begins moving or changes state.
The tracker also supports event-based monitoring functions such as SOS alerts, low battery alarms, and geo-fence notifications when a device enters or exits predefined areas. These alerts help operators react quickly to unusual activity or emergency situations.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device is powered by a rechargeable 650 mAh Li-polymer battery, which supports multiple operating modes to balance reporting frequency and battery life. In power-saving configurations, the device can operate for long periods between charges.
Its IP67 waterproof rating protects the tracker from dust and water exposure, allowing it to be used in outdoor environments. The unit operates in temperatures from –20 °C to +60 °C, supporting use in many climates and field conditions.
Expansion and I/O Support
The device includes BLE 5.2 for short-range communication with nearby sensors or accessories. This allows integration with external monitoring devices or additional data sources when needed.
A 5-pin magnetic interface is used for charging and device communication, simplifying installation and maintenance. The tracker also includes an RGB LED indicator, buzzer alerts, and a function button that can trigger alarms or activate device operations.
