GL51B Description
Core Purpose
The GL51B is a compact asset tracking device designed for long-term deployments where regular charging is not practical. Its small enclosure allows it to be installed discreetly, making it suitable for covert tracking and security applications.
The device combines GNSS positioning with cellular communication, allowing it to report location and status to monitoring platforms. This makes it useful for asset visibility, theft recovery, and operational monitoring.
Tracking and Location
The tracker uses a GNSS receiver with positioning accuracy below 2.5 meters, helping users locate vehicles or equipment precisely. When satellite signals are limited, the device can also use base station positioning to provide approximate location data.
Multiple reporting options allow the device to send location updates at scheduled intervals or in continuous tracking mode. This flexibility helps balance tracking detail with battery life.
Connectivity
The GL51B communicates through quad-band GSM/GPRS (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), enabling operation across many global networks. Location data and device information can be transmitted using TCP, UDP, or SMS.
The device also supports BLE 4.2, allowing interaction with nearby Bluetooth devices such as sensors or identification beacons. This can expand the tracking system with additional local data.
Power and Battery Life
A 4400 mAh lithium battery enables extremely long operation periods without maintenance. The device includes a power-saving mode and configurable reporting schedules to extend operating time.
Depending on the reporting frequency, standby operation can last from months to several years. This makes the device suitable for long-term deployments in assets that rarely move.
Monitoring and Security
The GL51B includes several built-in monitoring features that improve security and device awareness. Scheduled timing reports and wake-up reporting allow the system to check device status regularly.
The dual-mode anti-theft alarm triggers alerts if the protected asset is moved or removed unexpectedly. A low-power alarm also warns when the battery level becomes low.
