TS301 Description
Core Purpose
TS301 is a compact LoRaWAN temperature sensor built for reliable monitoring in places where conditions can be demanding and records matter. It is designed to collect temperature data, show readings on its local screen, and send the data for remote viewing and management. The datasheet also highlights its use in food and medicine cold-chain scenarios where traceability is important.
Connectivity and Communication
The device uses LoRaWAN for long-range data transmission with low power use, which helps it stay in service for years on embedded batteries. It also supports NFC for quick setup, making field configuration simpler without complex steps. The datasheet notes compatibility with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers, along with support for Milesight D2D and FUOTA for direct device interaction and remote firmware updates.
Monitoring and Data Handling
TS301 is built to do more than show a live reading. It can store up to 10,000 measurements locally, supports retransmission to reduce data loss, and allows data export as CSV or PDF for documentation and recordkeeping. It also supports threshold and change alarms, which helps users react when temperature conditions move outside expected limits.
Probe and Sensing Flexibility
A key strength of TS301 is its support for different probe options, so it can fit different sensing tasks without changing the main device. The datasheet lists optional PT100 probes, a DS18B20 probe, and a temperature and humidity probe, plus an optional magnetic switch sensor. For TS301 specifically, the single M12 connector supports one temperature/humidity sensor or one magnet switch sensor.
Power and Environmental Suitability
TS301 is made for continuous use in challenging conditions. It has an IP65 enclosure, works from -30°C to +70°C, and uses two 4000 mAh replaceable batteries, with the option for Type-C USB power. Battery life can extend beyond 4 years in a TS301 temperature/humidity configuration under stated test conditions, which helps reduce maintenance in long-term deployments.
Installation and Everyday Usability
The device is compact and includes a low-consumption LCD screen for quick local reading. It supports wall screw mounting and optional magnetic mounting, which gives flexibility during installation. The detachable probe design also supports self-calibration workflows, which can be useful where measurement confidence and maintenance access are important.
