UC300 Description
Core Purpose
The UC300 Series is an industrial IoT controller designed to connect field devices and transfer their data to remote systems. It collects information from sensors, machines, and other equipment and sends it to monitoring platforms for analysis and control. This allows operators to observe equipment status and trigger actions without being physically present.
The device also supports local automation. Trigger conditions and actions can be configured so the controller continues operating even if the network connection is temporarily unavailable. This enables reliable control in environments where connectivity may occasionally drop.
Connectivity and Communication
The controller can transmit device data through either LoRaWAN® networks or cellular connectivity such as 4G LTE with fallback to 3G or 2G. This flexibility allows deployment in different environments, from private LoRaWAN networks inside facilities to wide-area cellular coverage.
For cellular versions, a Micro-SIM card is used to access mobile networks. The device can send data through standard communication methods including TCP, UDP, MQTT, SMS, or cloud platforms such as Milesight IoT Cloud. These options make it easy to integrate the controller with monitoring systems and industrial platforms.
Monitoring and Control Capabilities
The UC300 Series supports multiple trigger conditions and automated actions. This means events such as sensor readings, digital input changes, or scheduled timers can automatically initiate responses like activating outputs or sending data reports.
A built-in watchdog mechanism helps maintain stable operation by monitoring the system and automatically recovering from unexpected errors. This improves reliability in industrial environments where continuous operation is important.
Expansion and I/O Support
The controller supports a wide range of industrial interfaces for connecting external equipment. It includes digital inputs and relay outputs for controlling devices, along with RS232 and RS485 serial ports for communication with industrial machines.
Analog inputs support both 4–20 mA and 0–10 V signals, which are commonly used by industrial sensors. The device also includes PT100 RTD temperature inputs capable of measuring temperatures from –200 °C to 800 °C. These options allow the controller to collect data from many types of sensors and equipment in a single system.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The UC300 Series is designed for indoor industrial environments. It operates on a wide 5–24 V DC power input and supports operating temperatures from –20 °C to +60 °C.
The device uses a metal enclosure with an IP30 protection rating and supports multiple installation options including desktop placement, wall mounting, or DIN rail mounting. Its compact size of 93 × 70 × 22 mm allows it to fit easily inside control cabinets or equipment panels.
