UC502 Description
Core Purpose
The UC502 is a multi-interface controller designed for collecting data from field sensors and connected equipment. It acts as a central device that gathers measurements from different interfaces and sends the data to remote monitoring platforms. This allows organizations to deploy distributed monitoring systems without complex local infrastructure.
The device is built for applications where multiple sensor types must be integrated into a single monitoring solution. By combining sensor interfaces with wireless connectivity, the UC502 simplifies data acquisition in industrial and environmental environments.
Connectivity and Communication
The UC502 supports long-range wireless communication through LoRaWAN networks, enabling data transmission over large outdoor areas. Under line-of-sight conditions, communication distances can reach up to 15 km, making the device suitable for remote monitoring locations such as agricultural fields or infrastructure sites.
It operates with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers, allowing easy integration into existing IoT networks. The device can also be connected to cloud platforms for centralized monitoring, device management, and data visualization.
Monitoring and Data Acquisition
The UC502 supports multiple sensor connection types, allowing it to gather data from a wide range of monitoring devices. Interfaces include GPIO digital I/O, RS232 or RS485 serial communication, analog inputs, and SDI-12 sensor connectivity.
Analog inputs support standard industrial signals such as 0–10 V and 4–20 mA, which are commonly used by measurement instruments. Serial communication enables integration with equipment that uses protocols such as Modbus RTU.
The controller can also store historical records locally and retransmit them later, helping prevent data loss if wireless connectivity is temporarily interrupted.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The UC502 is designed for reliable operation in outdoor environments. It can operate using replaceable ER26500 batteries or an external 5–24 VDC power supply, allowing deployment in remote locations where continuous power infrastructure may not be available.
The device features an IP68-rated enclosure, protecting it against dust and water exposure in harsh environments. Its operating temperature range of –30°C to 70°C enables stable operation in both cold and hot outdoor conditions.
Expansion and I/O Support
The UC502 is built for flexible integration with external sensors and equipment. The available interfaces allow the controller to connect with digital devices, industrial instruments, and environmental monitoring sensors.
Additional power output ports are available to supply connected sensors, supporting 3.3 V or selectable 5/9/12 V outputs depending on the connected device requirements. This simplifies deployments where sensors require local power from the controller.
Configuration can be performed through NFC using a mobile application, enabling fast device setup in the field without physical connections.
