WI-NR3100 Description
Core Purpose
The WI-NR3100 is a 5G NR outdoor router built to deliver high-speed internet in exposed or remote environments. It supports both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes, allowing flexible deployment across different 5G network types. The device is also backward compatible with 4G LTE, ensuring connectivity where 5G is not yet available. Its IP65-rated enclosure allows installation in outdoor locations where dust, rain, and temperature changes are common.
Connectivity and Communication
The router supports 5G Release 16 and LTE Cat.19, enabling high data throughput for demanding applications. In 5G SA mode, it supports up to 4.67Gbps downlink and 2.5Gbps uplink, making it suitable for bandwidth-heavy tasks. A 2.5Gbps Ethernet port provides high-speed wired connectivity to downstream devices such as switches, cameras, or local networks. The device also includes a SIM card slot (2FF) and supports multiple APNs, network selection, and cell locking for controlled deployments. VPN pass-through (L2TP/PPTP and WireGuard) enables secure remote communication across private networks.
Network Management and Monitoring
The router includes TR-069 remote management, allowing centralized configuration and monitoring without on-site visits. HTTPS web management and OTA firmware upgrades help keep the device updated and secure. Additional features such as DHCP server support, IPv4/IPv6 (including DS-Lite), firewall, QoS, port forwarding, and routing configuration (static route, failover, route status) provide flexible network control. Diagnostics tools like ping, traceroute, and speed tests help with troubleshooting and performance checks.
Power and Environmental Suitability
The device is powered via 802.3af PoE, which simplifies installation by combining power and data over a single Ethernet cable. Power consumption is under 10W, making it energy efficient for continuous operation. It operates in temperatures from –30°C to 75°C and supports storage temperatures from –40°C to 85°C. Surge protection up to ±6kV helps protect against electrical spikes in outdoor installations. The enclosure is rated IP65, protecting against dust ingress and water exposure.
Hardware Platform
The router uses a MediaTek T750 chipset with a quad-core 2GHz processor, supported by 1GB RAM and 1GB flash memory. It includes internal directional antennas rated at 3–7dBi and supports 4×4 MIMO downlink and 2×2 uplink in 5G SA mode. Three LED indicators provide status visibility for power, LAN, and 5G signal strength.
