A GPS bolt seal is a container locking seal that adds live connectivity to what was previously a passive security device. Like a standard bolt seal, it locks the container door and shows visible evidence of tampering. Unlike a standard seal, it reports its GPS location and sends an alert the moment it is cut or opened.
Traditional mechanical seals cannot report when or where a breach happened – the operator only finds out at the destination. A GPS bolt seal changes that: it makes the seal a live data source throughout the journey.
- Tamper alert – immediate notification when the seal is cut, broken, or opened
- GPS position – records the location at the exact moment of the tamper event
- Journey log – continuous position trail from loading to delivery
- Chain of custody – automatic timestamps at each point where the seal status changes
- Compliance – supports AEO and customs documentation for international freight
