Overview
GL52RP is a compact LoRa-based GNSS asset tracker designed for long standby deployments. It is built for battery-powered tracking scenarios where low energy consumption and wide-area coverage are critical. By combining GNSS positioning with LoRaWAN communication, the device enables long-term asset visibility without requiring cellular connectivity.
The device communicates using LoRaWAN (Class A), making it suitable for low-power wide-area networks. This allows periodic data transmission while maintaining extremely low energy usage. It supports scheduled timing reports and event-triggered reporting, including power-on notifications and geo-fence alerts. OTA configuration allows remote adjustment of reporting intervals and device behavior without physical access.
GL52RP integrates a u-blox GNSS receiver supporting GPS, Galileo, Glonass, and BeiDou. Multi-constellation support improves positioning reliability in different geographic environments. It delivers positioning accuracy of <2.5 metres (CEP) under autonomous mode. Fast hot-start time (1 second average) enables quick re-acquisition when the device wakes from standby.
A built-in 3-axis accelerometer enables motion detection and movement-based alarms. The device can automatically trigger reports when movement is detected or when entering or exiting predefined geo-fence zones (up to 5 regions supported). This allows event-based tracking rather than continuous transmission, helping extend battery life while maintaining control.
The device uses a 2400 mAh lithium manganese dioxide battery, optimised for long-term standby use. Battery life varies by reporting interval:
5-minute reporting: up to 30 days
10-minute reporting: up to 60 days
1 report per hour: up to 86 days
1 report per day: up to 1800 days
Operating temperature ranges from –20 °C to +60 °C, supporting outdoor and variable climate deployments.

Applications
GL52RP is well suited for monitoring non-powered or remote assets. Its long standby capability and scheduled reporting allow businesses to maintain visibility of equipment, containers, and movable property without frequent battery replacement.
For financed vehicles, the tracker provides GNSS location and motion detection to monitor usage and recovery situations. Geo-fence alerts help detect unauthorised movement outside permitted zones.
With motion-triggered reporting and precise GNSS positioning, GL52RP supports theft response operations. The long battery life ensures the device remains operational even if external power is unavailable.
In supply chain environments, the device can provide periodic location updates for transported goods. LoRaWAN connectivity enables low-power tracking within supported regional network deployments.
