DIN Rail is a standardised metal strip that runs inside industrial electrical panels. Devices with a matching clip – routers, switches, relays, circuit breakers – snap onto it without tools and can be swapped in seconds. Its presence on a datasheet means the device is designed for permanent panel installation.
The 35mm top hat profile (EN 50022) is the universal standard used worldwide. In a control cabinet, every device from the PLC to the industrial router will typically be DIN Rail mounted side by side on the same rail:
- Snap-on installation – no screwdrivers needed for mounting
- Devices can be moved or replaced without disturbing adjacent equipment
- Space-efficient – devices line up horizontally in a compact row
- DIN Rail mounting signals industrial-grade build intended for permanent, unattended operation
